In the germplasm bank of Casuarina established in Chihu Stated-owned Forest Farm,Huian county,Fujian Province,an in-dividual with obviously distinct features was discovered after a long-term observation,and its clonal seedlings were obtained through vegetative propagation to undertake DUS test,and finally a new variety named as Ruyi Phoenix(variety right No.20230152)was au-thorized in 2023.The crown of'Ruyi phoenix'is conical,and the trunk bark presents snakeskin-like cracks and grayish-brown col-our.The tooth-like leaves are red in tip and hug closely to green brancklets.The landscape type Casuarina variety'Ruyi Phoenix'is deemed to be satisfied with the criteria of new varieties of plants:distinctness,uniformity and stability,and presents excellent land-scape value.The research results can provide substantial germplasm resources for greening and beautification of the coastal areas.
