Differentially Expressed Proteins in Green and Purple Leaves of Zijuan Tea
The mechanism regulating the anthocyanin metabolism in the reddish violet‐shoot tea ,Zijuan (Camellia sinensis var .kitamura) ,was investigated .The isobaric tag for the relative and absolute quantification (iTRAQ ) method was applied to compare the differentially expressed proteins in the purple and green leaves of the tea plant . A total of 798 differentially expressed proteins were identified from them .In the purple leaves ,533 of the proteins were up‐regulated and 265 down‐regulated . They were categorized by their association with photosynthesis (accounting for 14.7% ) ,carbohydrate metabolism (5.1% ) ,transcriptional regulation (18.5% ) ,protein synthesis (11.4% ) , structural proteins (6.9% ) , signaling transduction (6.9% ) , amino acid metabolism (3.8% ) , anthocyanin metabolism (3.6% ) ,antioxidant stress (3.5% ) ,lipid metabolism (3.5% ) ,respiration ,or others .It appeared that the decrease in total soluble sugars in the purple leaves of Zijuan might relate to anthocyanin accumulation .
