Spatial Relationship between Soil Fertility factors and Slope at Zhuxi River Watershed
Terrain indicator has the significant impact on soil fertility factors. The analysis on the relationship between soil fertility factors and terrain slope in the Zhuxi River Watershed provides the guidance for selecting the vegetation that can adapt to the local ecological environment, which is more targeted, timely and effective in the vegetation restoration and soil fertility improvement. The Zhuxi River Watershed in Changting County of Fujian Province,a typical red soil erosion area in South China was selected as the example, through the software ArcGIS 10.8,it was extracted the data of the terrain slope index and soil fertility factors such as organic matter, total nitrogen, total potassium, and total phosphorus from 118 sampling points in the area, and then performed the spatial overlay analysis. In general, the soil fertility in the watershed is at a relatively low level, the areas with high contents of soil organic matter and total nitrogen are concentrated in the eastern part with the steep slope and the western part with the gentle slope of the study area. The areas with high contents of total potassium and total phosphorus are mainly concentrated in the central and western parts of the study area.In the process of ecological restoration, the attention should be paid to the improvement of soil fertility, accelerating vegetation restoration speed and maximizing ecological benefits.
