The Effect of Physical Exercise on Teachers'Psychological Well-Being in Compulsory Education:the Chain Mediating Role of Social Support and Social Self-Efficacy
Objective:To explore the relationship between physical exercise and teachers'psychological well-being in compulsory education stage, and to test the chain mediating mechanism of social support and social self-efficacy.Meth-ods:593 compulsory education teachers were investigated by scale, and the chain mediation test and Bootstrap method were used to analyze the effect.Results:(1)Physical exercise was significantly positively correlated with teachers'social support(r=0.195,P<0.001),social self-efficacy(r=0.265,P<0.001)and psychological well-being(r=0.283,P<0.001).(2)Physical exercise can positively predict social support, social self-efficacy and psychological well-being(P<0.001);social support can positively predict social self-efficacy and psychological well-being(P<0.001);social self-efficacy can positively predict psychological well-being(P<0.001).(3)The mediating effect test shows that social support and social self-efficacy play a significant mediating role in the relationship between physi-cal exercise and teachers'psychological well-being in the compulsory education stage. There are three paths:one is the independent mediating effect of social support with an effect value of 0.0025;the other is the independent mediating effect of social self-efficacy with an effect value of 0.0025;and the third is the chain mediating effect between social support and social self-efficacy with an effect value of 0.0027.Conclusion:Physical exercise can not only positively af-fect the psychological well-being of teachers in compulsory education stage, but also indirectly affect them through so-cial support and social self-efficacy.
