Clinical Research Progress in Shock Wave Treatment for Chronic Achilles Tendinopathy
Shock wave is mainly a kind of pulse acoustic wave formed by liquid electric/piezoelectric/electro-magnetic and many other generators, which has the characteristics of high voltage intensity, broadband and short time. The direct mechanical impact effect of acoustic wave and the indirect mechanical effect of cavitation can play a good therapeutic role in the change of body tissues and cells. At present, shock wave therapy is widely used in the noninvasive conservative treatment of various types of bone and joint diseases, such as achilles tendon disease and shoulder tendinitis.Chronic Achilles tendinitis is a common disease that induced heel pain, usually occurs in some jumping athletes, such as volleyball and high jump, and the cause of the disease is uncertain, mainly adopt a conservative treatment(such as pull/support protection)to relieve pain. This paper summarizes the treatment effect of shock wave on chronic Achilles tendinopathy in order to provide some clinical reference, which is reported as follows.
