Characteristics of Knee and Ankle Muscle Activation in Fast Walking at Different Gradients
Objective:To explore the optimal fast walking slope by analyzing the activation characteristics of mus-cles around the knee and ankle joints at a fixed speed of 6km/h.Methods:The electromyography signals of rectus femoris, vastus lateralis, tibialis anterior, biceps femoris and gastrocnemius lateralis of lower limbs of 16 male sub-jects were collected during fast walking on four slopes, and the muscle co-activation ratio was calculated.Re-sults:There was a significant difference in the co-activation ratio of vastus medialis:vastus lateralis in the knee joint between the 0 slope and the 6%slope.There was a significant difference in the co-activation ratio of tibialis anterior muscle:gastrocnemius lateralis in the ankle muscles between the 0 slope and the 6%slope.Conclusion:Treadmill slope of 6%is more suitable for fast walking and is more beneficial to muscle activation and stability of knee and ankle joints.
