A Study on Japan's Aggression towards Ethnic Minority Areas in Southern Taiwan:A Historical Study before and after Japan's Invasion of Taiwan in 1874
The Japan'sinvasion of Taiwan in 1874was a significant event that changed modern Sino-Japanese relations and had a profound impact on the history of modern Taiwan and Sino-Japanese relations.With the help of traditional historical documents and the latest discoveries of Japanese historical archives,especially Fujian Historical Archives in Japanese Libraries and data in Japan Center for Asian Historical Records,it can be found that before and after the Japan's invasion of Taiwan in 1874,Japan targeted the ethnic minority areas in southern Taiwan and used methods such as sending spies,intimidation,armed intervention,and coordinated investigation to invade and expand,attempting to gradually encroach on Taiwan,which marked the beginning of the implementation of Japanese policies towards China in modern times.Through the study of Japan's aggressive behavior in ethnic minority areas in southern Taiwan,not only has the historical truth and crimes of Japan's invasion of Taiwan been exposed,but also important references have been provided for understanding the historical reasons for Japan's formulation of Taiwan policy and its evolution.
