The so-called"Taiwan's 400-year history"defines the length of Taiwan's"historical era"as 400 years,and regards the"discovery"and colonial invasion of Taiwan by western countries such as the Portugal,Netherlands,and Spain in the 16th and 17th centuries as the"beginning"of Taiwan's history.It is an important basis for the"Taiwan independence"force to construct"historical perspective of Taiwan independence".Although this theory has some superficial similarities with some expressions in Lian Heng's General History of Taiwan,its connotation is completely different.The main purpose of the"Taiwan independence"force to publicize the"Taiwan's 400-year history"is to advocate that the history of Taiwan has been"separated from China"and integrated into the world under the influence of the western colonists;the second is to dilute and even erase the long-term exchange history between Taiwan and the mainland before the arrival of the western colonizers.The so-called"integration"of Taiwan with the world in the 16th and 17th centuries was only part of the huge historical process of China's economic and trade integration with the West at that time,and it is also evidence of the close historical ties between the two sides since ancient times,and an integral part of Taiwan's history.To this end,we should root out the source,fight resolutely with"historical perspective of Taiwan independence",and pass on the correct view of Taiwan history to people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits.
