Research on the application of teaching models based on"the concept of early clini-cal practice"
Objective To solve the problems of limited practical opportunities and insufficient operational capability of students in the cultivation of medical talents,and to explore the application value of early clinical practice courses.Methods Early clinical practice teaching activities were conducted among 53 undergraduate students.Following their clinical instructors,these students participated in clinical diagnosis and treatment work in outpatient,emergency,and ward settings,observing med-ical processes such as shift handover,clinical rounds,admission to the hospital,preoperative conversations,and health educa-tion.Results Medical students who participated in early clinical practice showed significant improvement in clinical knowledge,clinical cognition,professional mission,and communication skills after practice,compared with those before practice,with a statistically significant increase(P<0.01).96.2%of them were willing to participate in early clinical practice again.Conclusion Early clinical practice course has a good teaching effect and is worth promoting and applying in clinical teaching in medical colleges.
