Ginger-Separated Mild Moxibustion Combined with Pelvic Floor Muscle Training and Biofeedback Electrical Stimulation in Treatment of Postpartum Stress Urinary Incontinence in 33 Cases
Objective:To observe the therapeutic efficacy of ginger-separated mild moxibustion combined with pelvic floor mus-cle training and biofeedback electrical stimulation in treatment of postpartum stress urinary incontinence(PSUI).Methods:A total of 66 PSUI patients admitted to the center for pelvic floor medicine of the Affiliated People's Hospital of Fujian University of Tradi-tional Chinese Medicine from June 2021 to June 2022 were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group, with 33 cases in each group. The control group received pelvic floor muscle training, biofeedback electrical stimulation, and health education. The observation group was treated Baliao acupoint with ginger-separated mild moxibustion for 30 minutes each time, once every other day,in addition to the treatment received by the control group. Both groups received 10 consecutive interventions. The 1-h urine leakage volume, the occurrence rate of internal urethral orifice funnel, and the urogenital disorders inventory-6(UDI-6)scores were observed between the two groups before and after treatment,as well as the incontinence quality of life questionnaire(I-QOL)scores before and after treatment and one month after treatment. Results:Compared with those before treatment, the 1-hour urine leakage volume and UDI-6 scores significantly decreased in both groups after treatment(P<0.05),while the I-QOL scores sig-nificantly increased after treatment and 1 month after treatment(P<0.05);the occurrence rate of internal urethral orifice funnel in the observation group significantly decreased after treatment(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the 1-hour urine leakage volume and UDI-6 scores significantly decreased in the observation group after treatment(P<0.05),while the I-QOL scores significantly increased after treatment and 1 month after treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion:Ginger-separated mild moxibustion can effectively improve urinary leakage volume in PSUI patients, alleviate urinary incontinence symptoms, improve quality of life, and promote rehabilitation of postpartum pelvic floor function.
