Chinese poetry of"Ten Terraces"is a new style of nostalgic poetry formed in the Yuan Dynasty.It was continuous-ly developed from the Ming Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty and accepted by the literary world at that time,but it was ignored in contemporary research for a long time.Wu Shidao's Chanting on the Ten Terraces is the earliest poem of"Ten Terraces".The poem selected ten terraces of Gusu,Zhanghua,Zhaoyang,Huangjin,Xima,Gefeng,Wangsi,Tongque,Fenghuang and Lingxiao to chant.Later generations mostly took the Wu Shidao's poetry as the orthodox style,chanting ten ancient terraces in order,re-calling the ancient times and chanting history to express their feelings.The emergence and development of poetry of"Ten Ter-races"has its own historical origin and background,and poets would also gain unique experiences in their creation.Rediscover-ing the poetry of"Ten Terraces"will help to supplement the relevant research of poetry in the Yuan Dynasty and give a deeper understanding of the characteristics of the Chinese poetry style.
