Effect of molybdenum powder particle size on the properties of molybdenum rhenium alloys
Molybdenum rhenium alloy has good room temperature ductility and mechanical processing proper-ties,which is widely used in multiple industries. The properties of molybdenum rhenium alloys prepared by pow-der metallurgy method are affected by the particle size of the raw materials. In this study, three different particle sizes of molybdenum powder and rhenium powder were mixed to prepare MR35 alloy. The results show that the molybdenum rhenium alloy mixed with medium particle molybdenum powder and rhenium powder has the high-est density, and a deformation rate of over 60% obtain 99.9% density, while the molybdenum rhenium alloy mixed with coarse particle molybdenum powder and rhenium powder has the lowest density. More than 80% of the deformation rate is required to achieve a density of 99.9%. There is a positive correlation between the particle size ratio (D90+D10)/D50) of molybdenum rhenium alloy powder and its density.
