Time-varying Analysis on Seepage Field and Stability of the Waste Accumulation Slope on the Condition of Rain
Nowadays ,the analysis on waste accumulation slope is mainly based on single factors such as constant rain in-tensity ,which hardly reflects the actual situation .To solve this problem ,a waste accumulation slope in Fujian was cho-sen to be the test subject ,based on which the time-varying analysis of safety coefficient under different rain intensity and different types of rain was studied by using Geo-studio .And then the curves of the safety coefficient that changed with time were obtained ,as well as the analysis of the seepage characteristics of rainfall intensity that obviously affected the stability of the slope .The result of the time-varying analysis indicate that prolonged raining even the light rain will affect the stability of the slope;when the rainfall intensity exceeds a certain value ,the descending rate of the safety coefficient depends on the permeation rate of the slope in the initial time of the rainfall ,but the raininess becomes the main factor that causes the coefficient to descend as the permeation rate stables at the middle and late period of the rainfall .The re-sult of the seepage characteristic analysis suggest that prolonged strong rainfalls will result in the alteration of seepage di-rections and the occurrence of the overflow area at the heel of the slope ,which might turn into piping due to the strong permeation of the waste rocks and soil on the surface of the slope .So it is suggested to cover the waste rocks and soil with compacted earth in order to reduce the permeation and hence improve the stability of the slope .
