To improve the performance of C-type steel dampers and meet higher engineering requirements,a new type of constant cross-section C-type steel damper is proposed.A three-dimensional model was established for this type of damper and simulation analysis was conducted using ANSYS software to obtain the performance parameters of the damper. In addition, experimental comparative studies were conducted. The experimental results show that under the same seismic conditions, the constant section C-shaped steel based on seismic damping steel has higher damping ratio and more stable hysteresis characteristics, significantly improving the effectiveness of use. These research results could provide valuable references for considering the use of constant cross-section C-beams instead of variable cross-section C-beams in engineering practice.
