In order to explore the load transfer mechanism and deep foundation deformation patterns of pile-beam-sup-ported embankments in areas with deep soft soil, the long-term measurements included earth pressure on pile-beam top and between piles, layered settlement, deep lateral displacements, and stress of ground beams were conducted. The monitoring results elucidated that the measured soil pressure at the pile-beam head plane below the road surface is sig-nificantly greater than the measured soil pressure below the embankment slope. The lateral deformation of the deep foundation changes in a"fish belly" shape with the increase in depths, and the maximum lateral deformation is mainly concentrated at areas of middle-slope closer to the toe of the embankment. The layered settlement of the foundation rap-idly diminishes with increasing depths, gradually stabilizes after reaching depths of 6 meters underground, and the sta-bility of layered settlement exhibits obvious "lag".The ground beams undergo flexural deflection and exhibit the be-havior of upper bars in compression and lower bars in tension, which is conductive to load transfer to the piles.Final-ly,by comparing the field measurement results with the calculated results of the existing theoretical methods and norm-ative methods,it indicates that the soil arching effect of the pile-beam-supported embankment is more obvious than that of the pile-supported embankment.
