"Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program"has showed the direction for the development of engi-neering education in China,laid the foundation for the quality of talent training,and accelerated the transformation of China from an educational power to an academic power.Taking the practice and exploration of the"Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan"by the civil engineering major of Changchun Institute of Technology as an example,we hope to create a "model room"for the new model of excellent engineer training.This paper first analyzes the signifi-cance of the "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program"to engineering education.Then it summarizes the practice of the "excellent Engineer Education Program"from five aspects,such as innovating the education model,re-structuring the curriculum system,integrating teaching resources,innovating teaching evaluation methods,and deepe-ning the integration of production and education.Finally,it analyzes the achievements and problems in implementing the "Excellent Engineer Program".The teaching practice shows that the civil engineering major of Changchun Institute of Technology actively implements the excellence plan,promotes the work aimed at the cultivation of outstanding tal-ents,has achieved fruitful results,and provides references for the cultivation of civil engineering majors to promote the cultivation of excellent engineers.
