A Study on the Spatial Distribution Characteristics of Urban Vitality in the Pearl River Delta Urban Agglomeration
Urban vitality empowers high-quality urban development.Based on night light data,LBS microblog check-in data and POI data,this paper uses nuclear density analysis,Shannon Wiener Diversity index and bivari-ate spatial autocorrelation analysis to study the spatial distribution characteristics of urban vitality in the Pearl Riv-er Delta urban agglomeration in terms of economy,society,culture and function.The research has found that:(1)the economic vitality of the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration exhibits a spatial distribution characteristic of high in the east and low in the west,extending along the northwest southeast axis;social vitality is scattered;high value areas of cultural vitality are concentrated in the central areas of Guangzhou-Foshan and Shenzhen;high value areas of functional vitality are concentrated in the middle or scattered in distribution.(2)The overall level of comprehensive vitality of the Pearl River Delta urban agglomeration is weak,and the overall spatial pattern shows a characteristic of high in the middle and low in the surrounding areas.(3)There is a significant positive correla-tion between comprehensive vitality and economic vitality,and promoting urban economic development has a cer-tain positive effect on enhancing urban vitality.(4)There is a mismatch between comprehensive vitality and econo-my,society,and culture in the periphery of the core areas of urban agglomerations.In some areas,social and e-conomic activities lag behind urban development and construction,and there are problems of idle and insufficient utilization of functional facilities in urban construction.By studying the spatial distribution of urban vitality,we can focus on the weak links in urban development,which has practical significance for improving urban quality.
