Determination of Pro-Xylane in Cosmetics by Ion chromatography
An ion chromatography(IC)methods was developed for the determination of Pro-xylane in cosmetics samples. The samples were dispersed with deionized water, extracted by ultrasound, separated by a Dionex CarboPac MA1 IC column(4 mm×250 mm),and detected by an electrochemical detector and integrated amperometry. The results were confirmed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. The results showed that the linear range of Pro-xylane was 1-200 μg/mL,the detection limit(LOD)was 0.01%(S/N=3),the limit of quantification(LOQ)was 0.03%(S/N=10),and the correlation coefficient R2 was>0.999.The average recoveries were 90.5%-98.5%and the relative standard deviations(RSDs)were 0.7%-3.7%under three spiking levels. The method is simple, accurate and rapid, and is suitable for the determination of Pro-xylane in cosmetic samples.
