There are a large number of Huizhou genealogies in the Ming Dynasty, and the types are diverse. The unified genealogy is an important part of its characteristics and values.Cheng Min revised the Xin'an Cheng's Unified Genealogy, and after the creation of the unified genealogy system, the successors were different. In the late years of Wanli, the Xiuning Cao's Lineage Genealogy, which was jointly compiled by Cao Gao and Cao Sixuan's father and son,was one of the representatives. It realized the unity of inheritance and development in compilation. It has the characteristics of combining genealogy with history, paying attention to the compilation of family documents with diverse genres, and strictly emphasizing patriarchal clan system and ethics. At the same time, the data preserved in the genealogy about the imperial examination of the Cao clan in Xiuning, the establishment of the family, the dispute over the ancestral tomb, the tenancy of the tomb, and the preservation of the genealogy have important historical value for understanding the development of the Cao clan in Xiuning and understanding the development of the large clan in Huizhou.
