Abstract
Based on the embodied philosophy,embodied-cognitive translatology(ECT)puts forward embodied-cognitive monism, emphasizes the unity of body and mind, and takes the organic combination of"embodied"and"cognitive"as the core element of this theory. This study attempts to explore the affinity between ECT and ancient Chinese body philosophy and explain the interconnection between their concepts. The concept of"tizhi"(embodied cognition)in ancient Chinese philosophy refers to the phenomenological body, and has three characteristics—intuitiveness, relatedness and practicalness—which are highly consistent with ECT's concept of sensation and perception, multilevel interaction and contextuality, elucidating the embodied, complicated and contextualized features of translation activities.Analyzing the internal relation between ECT's theoretical conception and body philosophy in ancient China is conducive to a deeper understanding of ECT's local originality and international dimension.
