摘要

中医药文化深植于中国传统文化,中医药文化翻译是中华文化"走出去"的重要载体.中医药文化负载词是中医药文化的核心,是西方读者正确解读中医药文化内涵的关键.中医药文化中的精、气、神是人体生命活动的三大要素,自古以来被称为人身之"三宝",是中医学的基本概念和核心理论内容之一,指导着中医学的各个方面.精气神三者相互依存,不可分割,但就三者间的化生关系而言,气无疑处于最根本、最首要的地位.气成生精,精气化神.气是构成人体的元素和生命的基本动力.本文着重挖掘"气"的文化内涵,并基于15本中医药文化词典和术语标准建立了"气"(及其组合)的中医药文化负载词小型汉英语料库,目的是借用语料库研究方法检索中医药文化负载词"气"的英译现状,分析现存的"气"相关中医药文化负载词英译存在的问题,同时挖掘一些典型的"气"相关中医药文化负载词的内涵,并相应提出恰当的英译,以期为中医药文化的准确英译研究提供新范式,助力中医药文化的准确传播.

Abstract

Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)culture is deeply rooted in Chinese traditional culture,and its translation serves as an important carrier for Chinese culture going global.TCM cultural-loaded words are the core of TCM culture and the key for foreign readers to correctly interpret the cultural connotations of TCM.Among them,Jing,Qi and Shen are three fundamental elements of human life activities,known as"three treasures"of the human body since ancient times.They are one of the basic concepts and core theoretical contents of TCM,guiding various aspects of TCM.Jing,Qi and Shen are mutually dependent and inseparable,but in terms of their relationship of transformation,Qi undoubtedly occupies the most fundamental and primary position.Qi generates Jing.The transformation of Jing and Qi gives rise to Shen.Qi is the constituent element of the human body and the basic driving force of life.This paper focuses on exploring the cultural connotations of Qi and establishes a small-scale Chinese-English corpus of cultural-loaded word Qi(and its combinations)based on 15 TCM cultural dictionaries and terminologies,with the purpose of retrieving the current situation of the English translation of TCM cultural-loaded word Qi and analyzing the problems in the English translation of Qi-related cultural-loaded words.At the same time,the paper excavates the connotations of some typical Qi-related cultural-loaded words and puts forward appropriate English translations of them,so as to provide a new paradigm for the accurate English translation of TCM culture and facilitate the accurate dissemination of TCM culture.
