摘要

随着ChatGPT的问世,人工智能(AI)给体认翻译的发展带来影响.但其影响仅居次位,因为ChatGPT作为一种工具唯有辅助赋能作用,无法使人脑能力本身获得巨大提升.本文以体认翻译学为理论基础,通过实证研究获得以下发现和结论:(1)74.29%的学生译者在英汉翻译时并非将句法处理模型应用于句子理解;(2)究其原因乃学生译者认为在这些情况下句法处理对句子理解没有帮助;(3)在句子理解中弃用句法处理的认知能力缺陷无法通过ChatGPT弥补;(4)可以通过体认路径使句法处理成为先导来增强句子理解.由此,以认知思维为导向的句法研究乃是本研究之路径,而ChatGPT作为人工智能的成果对体认翻译而言只是研究工具.本文对体认翻译学视阈下的认知句法研究具有一定的启发意义.

Abstract

With the advent of ChatGPT,artificial intelligence(AI)has impacted the development of embodied-cognitive translation.However,its influence is secondary because ChatGPT,as a tool,can only provide auxiliary support and cannot significantly enhance the capabilities of the human brain itself.Based on the theory of embodied-cognitive translatology and through empirical research,this paper obtains the following findings and conclusions:(1)74.29%of translators do not apply syntactic processing models to sentence comprehension when translating between English and Chinese;(2)the reason is that translators believe that syntactic processing does not aid sentence comprehension in these cases;(3)the cognitive ability to forgo syntactic processing in sentence comprehension cannot be enhanced by ChatGPT;(4)enhancing sentence comprehension through syntactic processing as a precursor is achievable via embodied pathways.Therefore,syntactic research guided by cognitive thinking is the approach of this study,and ChatGPT,as a product of artificial intelligence,serves merely as a research tool in embodied-cognitive translation.This paper provides some insights into cognitive syntactic research from the perspective of embodied-cognitive translatology.
