Analysis of fatty acid methyl ester of three kinds of biodiesel by GC/MS
Three kinds of feedstocks (the cottonseed oil,the waste oil and the soapberry oil) are selected in this research work to produce biodiesel with transesterification reaction.These three kinds of biodiesel are analyzed through gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis method to get the detail fatty acid methyl ester composition and the corresponding contents.The analyzing results indicated that the methyl palmitate,the methyl linoleate,the methyl oleate and the methyl stearate are the main components of these three kinds of biodiesels,and the soapberry biodiesel has more methyl eicosenoate and methyl arachidate.Totally,13 kinds of fatty acid methyl ester have been identified in this research work.And the similarities and differences of the ester components among three kinds of biodiesels are analyzed.The analysis of composition and content of fatty acid methyl ester is found to be important in the study of biodiesel physicochemical properties.
