Connection properties of fiber composite joint with built-in thin steel plate
In order to study the connection performance of fiber composite joint with built-in thin steel plate, uniaxial tensile test was carried out on the structure of the joint. Then ABAQUS was used to study the geometric connection parameters, such as end-diameter ratio(E/D),side-diameter ratio(Sw/D),line-diameter ratio(S/D)and aperture thickness ratio(D/t),which affect the connection performance. The results showed that:the fiber composite joint with built-in steel plate had greater stiffness than the fiber composite joint without built-in steel plate, the peak load and peak displace-ment were increased by about 50%and 58%respectively,the stress concentration phenomenon around the hole was reduced, the failure mode was improved, and the bearing capacity and ductility perform-ance are better. The geometric connection parameters had a great impact on the bearing capacity and failure mode of the joint. To improve the connection efficiency,it was recommended that Sw/D≥2,E/D≥4,4≤S/D≤5,1.6≤D/t≤2.
