Research on the Construction of Urban Disaster Social Capital System:An Empirical Analysis of Chaohu Lake Flood Disasters in Hefei
In this paper, based on the data of the flood disasters in Chaohu Lake Basin obtained by the methods of qualitative research interview, participatory observation and literature review, the disaster social capital in flood disasters is analyzed. As the results show,a good interaction between internal and external social capitals can effectively reduce or even avoid the damage caused by flood disasters, which is manifested in the social trust support of reciprocity and trust, the informal support network of public participation, the good cycle of capital transformation, and the altruistic social norms of common destiny. Finally,by promoting a virtuous cycle between capitals, strengthening social trust and support, and regulating altruism, the capital stock within a region is enhanced with a view to help those responsible for planning and policy frameworks to effectively manage and respond to future disasters, and improve the ability of the most vulnerable population to successfully absorb shocks and pressures.
