A Review of Researches on Floods and Droughts in the Qing Dynasty
Because of the frequency occurrence of floods and droughts in the Qing dynasty and the abundant of classical literature about these disasters, relevant researches has been carried out continuously over the past century, resulting in extremely rich achievements. In order to systematically and clearly show the research characteristics, shortcomings and future development trends of flood and drought disasters in the Qing dynasty, the existing research results are comprehensively described in stages.According to both overseas and domestic researches,it's found that the research on the flood and drought disasters in the Qing Dynasty has formed a situation that features focusing more on historiography and less on geography,multi-party progress, serving the society, emphasis on regions, diversified methods, and downward shift of the horizon. On the other hand, the phenomenon of fragmentation and patterning in research is prominent, problem awareness needs to be strengthened, the research horizon needs to be broadened urgently, and the integration of disciplines is still weak.In the future,it is advisable to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, adopt data analysis, and change the old research paradigm.Furthermore, thematic sorting by classification and analysis should be carried out,and efforts should be made to break the shackles of inherent research.Last, the enhancement of practical care and depoliticization should be conducted, and the boundaries and depth of flood and drought disaster research need to be expanded.
