The second member of the Funing Formation(E1 f2)in the Huazhuang area of the deep concave-inner slope zone of the Gaoyou Sag is a favorable area and interval for shale oil exploration in the Subei Basin. In order to further clarify the characteristics of E1 f2 shale reservoir in the Huazhuang area, based on the systematic coring well HY1 in the favorable area, the pore structure of shale was finely characterized by using a combination of methods, such as thin-section identification, argon ion profiling and scanning electron microscopy,high-pressure mercury injection, nitrogen adsorption, and nuclear magnetic resonance, and the porosity, pore type and connectivity, pore throat characteristics, and full-scale pore size of shale in the E1 f2 core section of HY1 well were analyzed through core observation. The results show that E1 f2 in the Huazhuang area develops 3 categories and 10 types of pores, mainly inorganic pores.Among them, the porosity of laminar felsic lime-cloud mixed shale and lime-cloud shale has relatively large, and the intergranular(inner)and marginal pores of carbonate rock are more developed. The pores are mostly of H2-H3 type and H3 type, with good connectivity and relatively large throats.Three peaks characterize the pore structure, and medium-large pores account for a high proportion of the total number of pores. The main distribution of pore size is more than 100 nm.Therefore, the reservoir conditions are the most favorable, and its development interval can be regarded as one of the"sweet spots"of shale oil exploration in the second member of the Funing Formation in the Huazhuang area of the Gaoyou Sag.
