In oilfield development, the prediction of sand body thickness is usually based on the time thickness of the top and bottom reflection. The time thickness attribute is only accurate for the prediction of thick sand-body,and the prediction error is larger for thin sand-body thickness less than 1/4 wavelength. In this paper, the characteristics of the attribute curve of the wedge-shaped sand model are analyzed.A new method of thickness prediction is proposed with the idea of constructing an approximately linear relationship with the actual thickness of the sand body by combining the attributes of amplitude, time thickness, and frequency, which overcomes the shortcomings of traditional methods. The application practice shows that the new method is simple and applicable, significantly improving thin reservoirs'prediction accuracy.
