To address the risk of sand production during the production period after water shutoff operations in offshore wells,a biological sand consolidation agent(ZJ)was developed to work in conjunction with water shutoff treatments.Laboratory tests and evaluations were conducted on five aspects, namely, compressive strength, permeability retention, erosion resistance, effective period, and injectability. The results showed that with the concentration of sand consolidation agent at 10%and above, the compressive strength is greater than 6.4 MPa,higher than the industry standard requirement of 4 MPa.The core permeability retention rate is greater than 87%,indicating a certain resistance to sand erosion and a long validity period.Meanwhile, when injected using the water shutoff system, the sand consolidation agent demonstrated strong injectability and only experienced a minimal increase in injection pressure. The application of this sand consolidation agent in water shutoff operations in the Bohai Q Oilfield has achieved excellent test results.
