Research progress on the relationship between non-coding RNA and latent infection of human cytomegalovirus
Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is a ubiquitous, highly host-specific herpes virus.HCMV poses a significant challenge due to its high infection rate in the human population, strong pathogenic-ity after latent infection reactivation, and the lack of effective monitoring methods for latent infection.Recent studies have shown that non-coding RNA plays an important role in the latent infection of herpes viruses,sug-gesting that the specific expression levels of non-coding RNA can be used to assess the latent infection period of the disease. In this paper,we review the regulatory mechanisms of non-coding RNA related to HCMV latent infection to enhance our understanding.
