The monitoring value of serum miR-21,MMP-2 and EGFR in targeted therapy for lung cancer
Objective To Analyze the detection value of serum microRNA-21(miR-21),matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2),and epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)in targeted therapy for lung can-cer.Methods A total of 110 patients diagnosed with NSCLC by pathology at The Affiliated People's Hospital of Shandong First Medical University from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected as the subjects for this research. The levels of miR-21,MMP-2,and EGFR in NSCLC patients before and after treatment were compared. The treatment outcomes of all patients were recorded in order to analyze the factors that influence the effectiveness targeted therapy in patients with NSCLC.The predictive value of miR-21,MMP-2,EGFR alone, and in combination for determining the efficacy of targeted therapy in NSCLC patients was also calcu-lated.Results The levels of miR-21,MMP-2 and the positive rate of EGFR in NSCLC patients after treat-ment were lower than those before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After targeted therapy,21(19.09%)were markedly effective,35(31.82%)were effective, and 54(49.09%)were ineffective. The markedly effective and effective treatment were included in the effective group(n=56),while the ineffective treatments were included in the ineffective group(n=54).The levels of miR-21 and MMP-2 in the effective group were lower than those in the ineffective group, and the positive rate of EGFR mutation was higher than that in the ineffective group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The results of binary logistic regression analysis showed that the increase in miR-21 and MMP-2 levels and the decrease in EGFR mutation positive rate were all influencing factors affecting the efficacy of targeted therapy in NSCLC patients(P<0.05).The AUC of miR-21,MMP-2 and EGFR combined to predict the efficacy of targeted therapy in NSCLC patients was 0.896,with a sensitivity and specificity of 93.10%and 88.46%,respectively,which were higher than the three indicators alone(P<0.05).Conclusion MiR-21,MMP-2 and EGFR have important reference value for the effectiveness of targeted therapy in NSCLC patients. This information can serve as a foundation for developing clinical treatment plans.
