Expressions of FOLR1 and MSLN in cervical cancer tissues and their relationship with clinicopathological characteristics
Objective To explore the expressions of folate receptor 1(FOLR1)and mesothelin(MSLN)in cervical cancer tissues and their relationship with clinicopathological characteristics. Methods A total of 80 patients with cervical cancer were admitted to the First Hospital of Qinhuandao and enrolled as re-search subjects between January 2022 and January 2023.The expressions of FOLR1 and MSLN in cervical can-cer tissues and para-carcinoma tissues were detected using immunohistochemistry, and the relationship be-tween FOLR1 and MSLN in cervical cancer tissues and clinicopathological characteristics was analyzed.Based on the presence or absence of recurrence at 1 year after surgery, patients were divided into a recurrence group and a non-recurrence group. The clinical data in the two groups were compared. The influencing factors of post-operative recurrence in patients with cervical cancer were analyzed using multivariate regression analysis. Results The positive expressions of FOLR1 and MSLN in cervical cancer tissues were higher than those in para-carcinoma tissues(P<0.05).The expressions of FOLR1 and MSLN in cervical cancer patients with patho-logical type of squamous cell carcinoma, moderate to low differentiation,FIGO stage Ⅱa,and lymph node metastasis were higher than those in patients with pathological type of adenocarcinoma, highly differentiated,FIGO stageⅠa+Ⅰb,and no lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).After 1 year of follow-up,there were 21 cases with recurrence. There were significant differences in pathological types, differentiation degree,FIGO stag-ing,lymph node metastasis, expressions of FOLR1 and MSLN between the recurrence group and non-recur-rence group(P<0.05).Binary logistic analysis revealed that high differentiation, lymph node metastasis, and positive expressions of FOLR1 and MSLN were independent risk factors for postoperative recurrence in pa-tients with cervical cancer(P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of FOLR1 and MSLN expression in cervical cancer tissues are elevated. These two indicators are closely related to clinicopathological characteristics of pa-tients,and can be used as a reference for predicting postoperative recurrence.
