Relationship between the expression of FGF-21 and NLRP3 inflammasome in peripheral blood and prognosis in patients with acute pancreatitis
Objective To analyze the relationship between the expression levels of FGF-21 and NLRP3 inflammasome in peripheral blood and prognosis in patients with AP.Methods A total of 120 pa-tients with AP were admitted to Nanjing Pukou People's Hospital from February 2022 to February 2024.They were divided into three groups:mild AP(62 cases),moderate-severe AP(31 cases)and severe AP(27 cases)based on their disease severity.Additionally, patients were categorized into a death group(25 cases)and a survival group(95 cases)base don their prognosis on day 28 after admission. After admission, the lev-els of FGF-21 and NLRP3 inflammasome in peripheral blood were measured.Relevant clinical data were col-lected.The expression levels of FGF-21 and NLRP3 inflammasome in peripheral blood and relevant data were compared between different groups.Prognostic factors for patients with AP were identified through multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results The expression levels of FGF-21 and NLRP3 inflammasome in the pe-ripheral blood of patients with severe AP,moderate-severe AP,and mild AP decreased in order(P<0.05).The expression levels of FGF-21 and NLRP3 inflammasome in the peripheral blood of the death group were higher than those in the survival group(P<0.05).The proportion of patients with diabetes,APACHEⅡ scores, serum Scr,CRP,and PCT levels in the death group were higher than those in the survival group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that FGF-21 and NLRP3 inflammasome were independent risk factors for death in patients with AP 28 days after admission(P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of FGF-21 and NLRP3 inflammasome expression in the peripheral blood of patients with AP are abnormally elevated. Both markers can be used to assess disease progression and prognosis in patients with AP.
