Vulnerability assessment of physical protection system is a crucial method for identifying pro-tective weaknesses and improving protective capabilities of the system.In recent years,the assessment method based on fuzzy petri net has been preliminarily applied in the field of security,and it is a novel attempt to use this method to evaluate the vulnerability of physical protection system.Combined with the characteristics of the physical protection system,the assessment method based on fuzzy Petri nets is im-proved.The improved method integrates interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy numbers and hybrid operators into the fuzzy Petri net framework for vulnerability assessment of physical protection system.Cases studies are given to demonstrate the evaluation and application of the method.The results show that the fuzzy pe-tri net incorporating interval-valued Pythagorean fuzzy numbers enables the validity of reasoning while re-flecting the uncertainty of subjective evaluation,so that the evaluation results can carry more information,which provides a useful reference for the security system assessments under uncertain conditions.
