Digital Transformation and Corporate Resilience:Empirical Evidence from Chinese A-share Listed Corporations
Digital transformation is a necessary way for corporations to enhance their resilience and realize sustainable and high-quality development.Taking A-share listed corporations in China as a sample to examine the effect of digital transformation on the corporate resilience,the results show that digital transformation can enhance the corporate resilience and promote the sustainable development,and the results remain significant after multiple robustness tests.Meanwhile,digital transformation mainly acts on the economic resilience of manufacturing corporations,state-owned corporations,and major corporations,while the impact on non-manufacturing corporations,non-state-owned corporations,and small or medium size corporations is not obvious.In addition,the employment environment,digital infrastructure construction at the city level and innovation ability and internal control at the enterprise level are important channels for digital transformation to enhance corporate resilience.In order to better utilize the role of digital transformation in enhancing corporate resilience,we should continue to promote digital construction,pay attention to the differences in the digital development of different types of corporates and formulate targeted support measures,and give full play to the role of indirect drivers such as the employment environment,digital infrastructure construction,innovation ability,and internal control.
