The Integration of Traditional and New Infrastructure Enables the Coordinated Development of Dual Circulation:Measurement and Mechanism
Based on the provincial panel data of China from 2008 to 2022,on the basis of measuring the integration degree of traditional and new infrastructure and the coordination level of the dual circulation, the influence and mechanisms of the integration of traditional and new infrastructure on the coordinated development of the dual circulation are systematically investigated. The calculation results show that the integration of traditional and new infrastructure in China shows an increasing trend year by year, but there is still much room for improvement.China's internal circulation development level is growing in a good trend, while the external circulation development level is growing at a low rate and developing slowly, which inhibits the promotion of the coordinated development level of the dual circulation. The empirical results show that the integration of traditional and new infrastructure can significantly promote the coordinated development of the dual circulation, and this conclusion is still valid after a series of robustness tests.Optimizing resource allocation and promoting industrial upgrading are important transmission mechanisms for the integration of traditional and new infrastructure to promote the coordinated development of dual circulation. The integration of traditional and new infrastructure has a significant promotion effect on the coordinated development of dual circulation in the eastern, central and western regions, and the effect size presents the characteristics of"East>Central>West",but it is not significant in the Northeast Region.
