The Impact of Digital Empowerment on the Construction of Modern Industrial Systems
In the era of digital economy,digitalization has become an important driving force in the construction of modern industrial system.The level of modernized industrial system construction at the city level is comprehensively measured based on four dimensions,including real economy,scientific and technological innovation,modern finance and human resources,and then examined the impact of digital empowerment on the construction of modernized industrial system.The study finds that digital empowerment effectively improves the cities'construction level of modernized industrial system,and this conclusion still holds after endogeneity treatment and various robustness tests.Mechanism tests show that digitalization empowers the construction of modernized industrial system at the macro level by promoting industrial integration and improving innovation efficiency,and boosts the construction of modernized industrial system at the micro level by lowering the financing constraints of enterprises and enhancing the efficiency of enterprise investment.Heterogeneity analysis found that the empowerment effect of digitalization on the modernized industrial system is more prominent in the eastern region than in the central,western and northeastern regions.In regions with higher levels of digital infrastructure,digital industrialization and industrial digitization,the role of digital empowerment in promoting the construction of modernized industrial system is stronger.In addition,digital empowerment effectively drive low-carbon development,but digital technologies drive the low-carbon transition more than digital applications.It is necessary to accelerate the promotion of digital technology innovation and integration application,enhance the quality and efficiency of the real economy with digital empowerment,and strongly support the construction of modernized industrial system.
