This research aims to investigate the selection technique of a new seismic isolation device under column(SISC)made of scrap tire isolation pads(STP)in the frame structure of a rural building.The model of isolated and non-isolated three-story frame structure was established by software SAP2000,and the simplified calculation method was used for the preliminary layout.The response spectrum and time history analysis methods were used to compare the shear ratio between the layers before and after isolation,and the dynamic response of the superstructure was analyzed.The results show that the bottom shear ratios obtained by simplified calculation,mode response spectrum,and history analysis methods are 0.4207,0.4091,and 0.4491.The natural vibration period of the isolated structure is 2~3 times longer than the non-isolated structure.According to the time-history analysis method,the inter-story drift ratio and top layer acceleration of the superstructure in the isolated structure are 86.48%and 49.26%lower than the non-isolated structure,which meets the limit requirements of the specification.The overall superstructure presents translational motion in the isolation structure.SISC isolation frame structure according to the simplified calculation method of SISC preliminary layout is feasible,and the research results provide a reference for the practical application of STP isolation system in village buildings.
