Research on Fine Aggregate Gradationbased on Asphalt Mortar Road Performance
In order to optimize the gradation of fine aggregate, the variable I method has been used to calculate various fine aggregate gradations. The embedding effect of the gradation has been tested using the Bailey method, and asphalt mixture specimens have been formed.Uni-axial penetration tests and low-temperature splitting tests have been conducted respectively. The experimental results have shown that as the I value increases, the mortar grading becomes finer, the shear resistance and low-temperature tensile strength first increase and then decrease.Considering improving the shear resistance of asphalt mortar while not excessively weakening its low-temperature crack resistance,it has been recommended to have an appropriate I value of 0.68,at which, the shear and crack resistance of asphalt mortar are relatively superior.
