Study on UV Aging Performance of MWCNT/SBS Composite Modified Asphalt
To evaluate the impact of UV aging on the performance of MWCNT/SBS modified asphalt, the best ratio has been selected by means of standard performance tests. The rheological performance and aging index of the modified asphalt before and after UV aging have been assessed through dynamic shear rheological tests,low-temperature bending beam rheological tests and infrared spectroscopy tests. The results have indicated that the optimal ratio for the modified asphalt is a 0.5%MWCNT content and a 3.0%SBS content. The carbonyl and sulfonyl aging indices of the modified asphalt increase rapidly in the early stages of aging, with the carbonyl index increasing at a faster rate. The resistance of the modified asphalt to aging at different UV wavelengths follows this order:380 nm>300 nm>320 nm>340 nm>360 nm.The rutting factor, stiffness modulus and UV aging index of the modified asphalt show a positive correlation, while the m-value shows a negative correlation.Under a 380 nm UV wavelength, the modified asphalt could not only exhibit the best UV aging performance but also promote the dispersion and swelling of SBS in the asphalt.
