Research on Design of Shanmei Expressway Bridges and Culverts Reconstruction and Extension
As the first expressway reconstruction and extension project in the mountainous and hilly areas of Guangdong Province,Shanmei Expressway reconstruction and extension project faces many challenges,such as low technical standards of the old road,numerous control factors,and the requirement to maintain traffic during construction. The reconstruction and extension plan of bridges and culverts has a significant impact on the structure safety,project cost,traffic organization and construction period. Considering the characteristics and challenges of the old bridges and culverts reconstruction and extension,this study investigated and discussed the design principles,bridge widening schemes,and the key technical points for the design of expressway bridges and culverts reconstruction and extension in mountainous and heavy hilly areas,which provides a valuable reference and guidance for similar projects.
