To study the problem of sudden water inrush from the surrounding rock of a section of a certain tunnel,by comparing the on-site construction records and relevant monitoring data,the causes of water inrush were preliminarily identified and treatment measures were proposed. In addition,numerical calculations were established to compare the operating conditions,and by integrating the on-site measured data the effectiveness of the treatment measures was verified. The relevant results indicated that weak surrounding rock mass,groundwater,and rainfall were significant causes of tunnel water inrush. The combination of tunnel advance drilling drainage and grouting around the surrounding rock can effectively control the deformation and water inrush volume of the surrounding rock.
