The Impact of Tutor Support on Research Innovation Ability of Postgraduate Students:the Chain-Mediated Role of the Peer Support and Learning Engagement
Postgraduate students are a crucial part of the scientific research system,and cultiva-ting their research innovation ability is a core goal of postgraduate education and an important measure for the construction of an innovative country.Based on social support theory,learning en-gagement theory and social exchange theory,this study discusses the relationship between tutor sup-port and postgraduate students'research innovation ability,as well as the chain mediating role of peer support and learning engagement.The results show that:(1)there is a significant correlation between tutor support,peer support,learning engagement and research innovation ability;(2)the di-rect effect of tutor support on research innovation ability of postgraduate students is significant,the indirect effect is produced by the peer support,the intermediary of learning engagement and the chain intermediary of both respectively,and tutor support can improve research innovation ability by promoting the peer support and increasing the learning engagement.
