The Community Of Inquiry(COI)framework is an important model in the field of learning in higher education.Based on the theoretical model and connotation of COI,the causes of adult teaching inefficiency are explored,and it is found that the low internal connection between teachers and students,the lack of learners'metacognitive skills and the failure to explore profoundly restrict the teaching quality.Therefore,continuing along the characteristics of the theory,it is pro-posed to enhance the effectiveness of adult education by utilizing the adult experience to create an inquiry environment,leveraging digital technology to assist in the transformation of the teacher's role in inquiry,emphasizing the cultivation of the inquiry quality of critical thinking,and improving metacognitive skills through collaborative learning.
