The emergence of higher education adapted to and reflected the phased needs of higher education development.Towards the higher education popularization,the knowl-edge system of higher education has been becoming increasingly complex,and interdiscipli-nary research on higher education has broken through the boundaries and perspectives of ed-ucation.However,within the existing disciplinary classification framework,the knowledge system regarding higher education can only be a part of education.To break through the in-stitutional bottleneck,one path is to set higher education as a primary discipline under the category of education;or set it as a primary discipline under the interdisciplinary category.In the post disciplinary era,only by taking the interdisciplinary approach,with the goal of be-coming an interdisciplinary discipline,can we achieve its grand vision of using higher educa-tion as a carrier to promote the progress of advanced knowledge and human development.
