The Professional Socialization of Doctoral Students:The Conceptual Distinction,Practical Connotation,and Research Directions
The professional socialization of doctoral students is a bidirectional interaction process between doctoral students and professional communities,which is influenced by changes of the times and specific national conditions.From the perspective of changes of the times,it contains more extensive and diversified content,which is no longer equivalent to the socialization to the academic career.From the perspective of specific national conditions,it has distinct Chinese characteristics.Research on the professional socialization of doctoral students in China should pay attention to the connotation and composition of professional communities,and the content of professional socialization of doctoral students beyond the ac-ademic profession,to construct a theoretical system of doctoral professional socialization suitable for the Chinese context.
