Tracing the Ideological History of the Educational Purpose of"Advocate Real Learning"in Jiaotong University:——Centered on Tang Wenzhi's Confucianism
Tang Wenzhi was a famous educator and Confucian scholar in modern times.He was the key figure who established the educational purpose of"Advocate Real Learning".Based on the thought of"entity of Yuan Qi",he affirmed the reality of the world and laid a theoretical foundation for his engineering education.Based on the thought of"Investigation of Things and Fathoming of Principles",he believed that the engineering education is an in-dispensable part of that study.Based on the practice thoughts,he carried out many engineer-ing education practices.Based on the pragmatic thought,he regarded engineering education as an important part of Statecraft Real Learning and achieved a series of educational achieve-ments.Taking Tang Wenzhi's Confucianism as the starting point,we can fully understand the ideological origin of the educational purpose of"Advocate Real Learning"in Jiaotong U-niversity,and trace back to the development process of Chinese engineering education.
