External Evaluation and Implications of Higher Education in the United Kingdom——A Study on the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education
As China's higher education has shifted from the stage of scale expansion to high-quality development,the quality of higher education has lagged behind the expansion of educational scale,facing the problem of how to meet the strong expectations of the public for high-quality education.As a global leader in higher education,the UK has an outstanding influence on promoting the construction of quality assurance system for higher education.The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education(QAA),the representative organization responsible for implementing higher education quality external evaluations in the UK,has played a crucial role.Using the case study method,the research analyzes and summarizes the operation of QAA and its reform process in evaluation practice.Based on this,it extracts some innovative experience in quality assurance of higher education,and further proposes some implications on the reform of China's quality assurance system.
