The Influence of Supervisory Style on Graduate Students'Critical Thinking Ability—Analysis on the Mediating Effect of Personal Initiative
Critical thinking ability is the core code to assess the innovative capability of graduate students,and the supervisory style has a profound influence on their critical thinking ability.Based on 1086 graduate students from universities,this paper analyzes the influencing mechanism of supervisory style on graduate students'critical thinking ability.The research findings are as follows:both supportive and controlling guidance styles have a positive impact on the critical thinking ability of graduate students;personal proactiveness plays a moderating role between the supervisory style and the critical thinking ability of graduate students.The higher the personal proactiveness,the stronger the positive influence of the supportive guidance style on the critical thinking ability of graduate students,while the weaker the positive influence of the controlling guidance style.Based on these research conclusions,this paper suggests that higher education institutions should reshape the academic critical thinking values,and strengthen the professionalization and diversification of the graduate student mentor team.Supervisors should appropriately adjust their guidance styles,and establish a balanced re-lationship atmosphere.Graduate students should solidify their beliefs in academic critical innovation,and take the initiative to adapt to their supervisors'guidance style.
