In the age of acceleration dominated by"competitive logic"and"achievement culture",univer-sity teachers are experiencing academic pressure and time anxiety.From the perspective of German social criti-cal theorist Rosa's theory of social acceleration criticism,it is found that under the three acceleration dimen-sions of technological acceleration,social change acceleration,and life rhythm acceleration,as well as the disci-pline of institutional,economic,and cultural forces,the academic life of university teachers presents five char-acteristics,including the silent elimination of academic space,a product orientation of academic achievements,utilitarianism of academic behavior,the detachment of academic time nature and the contradiction and aliena-tion of academic identity.To enable university teachers to return to a slow paced academic life and return to their time,it is necessary to follow academic rhythms,correct research motivation,and respect publication of a-chievements in order to achieve harmonious resonance between individuals and the interpersonal,spiritual,and material worlds.
